I actually liked Super Mario Brothers Better. This is the best video game movie, yes.
I thought Max Payne was just stupid. The story didn't even make any sense. And i hate films that go for a PG-13 rating when it OBVIOUSLY should not be that. How do you convey drug abuse in a PG movie? By having them drink it instead.
I have no problems with Metal Gear Rising. Infact I have began to not give a shit about the Metal Gear Solid franchise because.
I mean they are fun.
But Im over it.
So much fucking talking and linear gameplay when all i want to do is choke fuckers out and hide in boxes. I mean all the hype for Metal gear solid 3 had me thinking you would be required to evade capture in massive sandboxy areas of jungle. And for the food and medical systems to be more than just a little gimmick tacked in there.
Then metal gear solid 4 had me thinking i would be stalking through MASSIVE sandboxy Iraq bombed cities in the middle of a warzone. Being able to play both sides of the field.
I am interested in the PSP Metal Gear though.
I really liked Metal Gear Ac!d and would like a realtime version of the game. I think it'd be fun. Portable ops was OK.

do you mean it was unbelievable? pretty sure in the games they never showed anyone shooting up either. the game was ma15, i think the difference is two shits and a fuck, which i don't give for a lack of swearing.
have you played the game? it's a really good adaptation. the game was stupid and i think the movie was less stupid.

I wrote a rant, took 5 and then deleted it. I found the movie to be predictable, the acting to be stiff, and the storyline just, I left the cinema feeling stupid.do you mean it was unbelievable? pretty sure in the games they never showed anyone shooting up either. the game was ma15, i think the difference is two shits and a fuck, which i don't give for a lack of swearing.

if it's predictable then it makes sense....
have you played the game though? i'm pretty sure in the MAX PAYNE HYPE thread i said something like "hmmmm well they can't possibly mess this up" and it's true. the storyline, acting, and dialogue are all worse in the game. as it is all i remember from the movie is a cool gunfight near the end, and also that the bullet time sequences slowed down too much compared to the game

yeah I do remember how I thought MGS4 would be fucking huge too but that was mostly because Kojima was all like this game can't possibly fit onto a DVD so I was imagining he had to store geographic data for like an entire virtual country
I've only seen videos but like MOTHER looks like it has a bigger world than MGS4 (not to bring up Earthbound but I was talking with Dookie about how that must've been some ridiculous compression scheme for 1980-something because it was like 3000x3000 tiles across or something like that)
I also thought MGS3 would have a big/sprawling/randomly generated world, I think to the point where I thought on the first map there was some way to get over into the thicket of trees not realizing it was essentially a solid wall. But the whole game world had more variety than it looked like in the previews so that made it less disappointing - although I still had a way different picture in my head like I thought the camouflage system would be so complicated how will they possibly do indoor areas with the same engine
Edit: I think at the time I thought it would be one big sprawling continous map

I just recently played trough the first 2 MGS'S. I'm on 3... I gotta say... MGS 3 is a lot harder (not a bad thing, nor a good thing... just is notable)... The camo system is kinda tedious. I'm on the part just after that guy shoots a Nuke from a Davy Crochet (spell?) launcher and blew up that factory.
Haha I noticed the difficulty spike too, especially after that part your upto now. 'cause of the environment you actually have to try and survive, claymores are a pain to see and finding the Mine Detector is necessary. I never really bothered with camo and either stick it onto the grass camo or black camo, and no face paint - I usually tranq everyone, and the ocasional kill if they call in re-inforcements, as I have the M23 Shotty and an AK-47 on me.
I'm just after an early-ish cutscene with Ocelot playing Russian Roulette by juggling guns, he is easily my favourite character so far.

I actually haven't had too much problems with claymores yet (I imagine I will eventually). And the environments itself isn't the problem, its that the enemies spot you a lot easier and the different levels of alertness last a HELL of a lot longer... which is actually a bad thing IMO because it makes you just sit in your hiding spot waiting for the alert level to reduce to zero. It almost pads the game in this way with all the waiting around.
The fact that you can't just heal yourself with rations and instead have to just wait for you health to regen is a little more annoying because it forces more waiting on you. or at least it does for me because of my OCD with such things.

because I realized when shit like that happens and you have to resort to hiding in a grass spot for a century, you basically screwed up majorly somewhere.
also took me a while to realize you can't normally creep up being soldiers with just being gentle with the analog stick, you have to use the dpad to move verryyy slowly. good to do cqc from behind, or hold them up, etc

Yeah, rations got put into the food category, so instead they put Life Medicine in it's place, however it's rare as hell, only had one so far and used it fighting The Pain, his bloody bee shield is a pain in the butt, however got a good amount of food from lobbing nade's at him and missing. Haven't played in a while tho', seeing as I kind of got back onto playing Kingdom Hearts again. Going to have to return to it, otherwise I'm going to get worse than I am now
