What your saying is it's fun, is it linear?

I am thinking I might play Armored Core 4 or the sequal, or otherwise Dynasty Warriors Gundam 1/ or 2. What should I expect from either of these titles.

I've heard AC4 was one of the worst ACs ever, and that Dynasty Warriors Gundam 1 and 2 were really terrible games

but I guess that is all you can get in terms of modern giant robot games

Dynasty Warriors Gundam (I think the demo I was playing was 2?  I don't really know I only played it once) is good if you really like Gundam.  This game is only for people who pick Gundam over historical China, and for those people I can see how it would be really good.  To me it was just Dynasty Warriors where every thing I fought was either a thousand copies of the same robot or one of like five larger robots.  If you like Gundam, it's probably great, if not there is no reason to play it.  I like the idea of making a single game with many different themes, but Gundam is not exactly my first choice for alternate themes.

I played the demo of DWGundam 1 and really liked it. Velfarre you've pretty much summed up the game. gundam > historical china ftw. I will be getting dwg2 though :P

at the moment I am playing Red Faction Guerrilla. This game reminds me a lot of Mercenaries 1/2. The nice feature in this game is that you can break pretty much anything. They put a lot of detail into designing building collisions. Online multiplayer's just as addictive as Halo3.

I don't think I would ever, ever pick an anime over HISTORICAL EVENTS but that's just me.

It loosely follows the RotTK books, which I guess are loosely based on historical china, but not quite. Otherwise some of the characters would have 1 stage scenarios, Pang Tong for instance.
I'd take Historical > Gundam any day, mostly 'cause I'm used to it all. Now if they make a DW 7, which is likely, I think it'd be best for them to make it be a combination of 5 and 6, but definately bring  back the system of the player being the commander if they choose them, that's my main problem with 6 and it makes the later levels a pain :|
But anyway, randomly started F.E.A.R again and even more randomly FFX-2, still haven't beat FFX yet :O

I'm looking at Sacred 2 myself, looks like a good game and I could aklways do with another dungeon crawler, can't wait till Demon's Souls or whatever it is comes out in the UK too.

And I enjoy both of them, mostly for the battle systems (X's slightly more 'cause I can have a conversation at the same time, but X-2's I enjoy for the fact I actually have to think quicker) but the stories are alright aswell.

sure you can get used to it but wouldnt you be bored after? the first games I ever played from koei were nobunaga's ambition and rotk for the nes backk in the day. nobunaga was loosely based off japanese history but rotk was pure chinese. then you get dynasty warriors. based off the books (well except for the 1st I believe). I've played 2,3,4,5 even one of the gba ones. imo its boring playing the same thing over and over (ok, yes there are magical attacks in the latter ones), hell add samurais and i'd love that game. oh right samurai warriors  :fogetlaugh:. robots? dw gundam  :fogetlaugh:

currently starting a new game in metroid prime, I never got to beat it all I remember is a lot of scanning

dynasty warriors is historical in the sense that it is like having historical events go through the telephone game a few times before being written down

Dynasty Warriors has always looked incredibly dull to me. Like I couldn't see myself playing for more then 10 minutes and getting horribly bored. And the Gundam version looks like it has identical gameplay only the models are replaced with giant robots. My friends seem to think they are great but I just can't see the fun in what essentially looks like a game where you move forward and then press a button repeatedly to kill all the enemies no accuracy or forethought needed.

In other words, you don't like arcade games. But looks like i'll pick Armored Core 4, sorry Bojangles but if you actually havn't played any of the two then I won't consider your opinion because I suspect your heavily biased against this kind of thing.
A tool is a tool regardless. I mean if you suck, you suck, and not even the most perfect tool could save you. And if your damn good then even with the worst tool ever conceived you could chug out some high quality shit.

Have they made a Dynasty Warriors RTS? I think that would be kinda neat. I love me some RTSes.
I played the demo for Red Faction today and REALLY want to buy it. The demo was really fun. I think Red Faction might be a good game.

I think Kessen is as close to a DW RTS as I've seen, never played it before, but from videos I've seen it looks sorta like that
I don't really get that bored with DW, I play it every so often as not to, just have stopped playing DW6 so much 'cause I'm stuck on one of Zhang Fei's levels. DW5 on the other hand I play more often and find to be slightly easier, ever so slightly though.

Bought myself the GotY edition for Morrowind, and I'm patching it up with some mods, mostly gonna be the Tamriel Rebuilt mods which are in production. They've done 2 of the 6 planned sections to build the Mainland Morrowind, and that's already a fair bit of the landmass.

I haven't played it yet... but I assumed it was good considering that the first was so excellent... the second one fucking sucked though, but I'm pretty that is because it was by different people.

I've been playing a lot of mame the last week or so too, because I finally set it up properly on my Wiz.  It's a LOT better playing Ghosts n' Goblins on MAME than it is on the NES, everything's a lot less tiny.  I've also been playing Hatris on it ;D
