After 10 years (including school) of IT, I'm thinking of switching gears and becoming a programmer. I was pointed to this forum for, um, pointers. I learned Java in university and had a knack for it (I've done some very basic programming-related stuff since then, such as some SQL). I'm 29 and plan on studying very seriously.
Any tips would be huge. Which languages (I'm thinking of C++, Java, and .Net) should I study? What are some good resources? What can I expect in the market (veryyyy broadly, I'd rather work for a company like Intuit than Activision, if you catch my drift)?
Anyone that can help me begin my journey???
Please help.
I didn't find the right solution from the internet.
Thank you
