If you just need the EXP system, then you can download the EXP Patch from the downloads topic. Its just the exp patch without the "Goliath" part xD

Well ok, it's not much of an army, but you can support my game anyway!

Well done, I must say you've made a pretty great patch here, and considering the number of things it does what amazes me more is that it's stable.
However I'm not going to be using it for any future projects because your patch mostly affects the DBS which is what I never really use at all, the added window size is a nice addition but I also need to have the event window smaller sometimes for 'tracking' purposes (don't ask).

But regardless of whether I use it or not, it's something that will come in handy to a lot of people, and we can all hold you responsible for the plague of FF8 fan games that will GW in the future :)

Hey Aten, I got a question.

Let's say if person A is using goliath patch and person B is using the normal ver, can person B open A's project in his RPGMAKER normally (with the new EXP rate, high numbers) or will that person have to patch his RPGMaker first?

I guess I am just curious on how it will go.

If person B opens person A's project (which he should not be doing in the first place) and goes into the exp curve modifier, to him, the numbers will max out at 1000 (if you had more then 1000) or be at 1 (if you used a negative because normal rm can't go to 0)

As long as person B doesn't DIRECTLY MODIFY the curve, YOUR setting will be intact, but one move, ONE TOUCH and BAM, your curves will be lost and it will default to 1000 or 1 or whatever.

Experience curve can go between 2000 and -2000, which means you can make FF8 type of level up system, no problems!

What is this FF8 level up system..... ?

MAN UPRC. DON'T YOU KNOW ANYTHING?!!!!

In FF8, you had 0 EXP and as soon as you hit 1000, you leveled and it went back to 0, then 1000, then 0 etc etc

COME ON.. EVERYONE SHOULD KNOW THAT! :gwa:

So with this patch, you can make experience reset when you level up then??

I see what you did Mateui! I guess I'm the only one who remembers FF8

No, you can have your level ups cost exactly 1000 EVERY TIME, (which is the point of FF8). It's the TO NEXT LEVEL which resets to zero, but rm doesn't HAVE a "to next level" so..... xD

This is a pretty nice patch, Aten, and I can see how people would lap it up, but it's just a big too chunky for me. :( If there was something more in-between in terms of size, I'd probably jump at it. The FF8 Exp curve patch thingy sounds interesting, though, so I'll probably look into it. :)

Ouch.

Heh, I  play in EDIT mode most of the time (plus, I want to see how people do things in RM as well), so I guess I should be careful if the game is made with the goliath patch!
