Whenever I try installing iDraw I get a message that says "The operating system is not supported."

I just had my computer WIPED clean and decided to put Windows7 on it. Is that the problem, and if so is there a better version of iDraw since 3? I ask because that is my favorite program and I need a very specific tool that no other graphic editor has, at least not in the same light.

There is most likely a problem with it not working for windows 7.   This is especially likely since a special version of it had to be released just so that it could run on XP, which tells you something about how old the program really is.   I would think though that if you use the version that is designed to work on XP, that it should work on at least Vista and possibly 7.    Did you have Vista or XP before and did it work on that?

What's the special tool that only idraw has

I had XP before and it worked fine for me.

If Windows7 has a compatibility mode for older Windows (like XP) then try that.

But, why don't you just go back to XP?
Windows7 is still in Beta, so it's going to be kind of buggy anyway.

Well the program isn't even installed, much less able to be Ran in any mode.

After various trouble shooting and compatibility stuff, it still says the same message

since idraw doesn't seem to be a viable option for you anymore, what is the "special tool" that this apparently ancient program has that other programs don't (because chances are that somebody knows a program that will work for you that can do just about the same thing)

Check out Paint.net. It is supposedly a good prgram but  I have never used it dude.

Well there's loads  of better drawing programs but idraw is just kind of designed for rm2k or whatever. It automatically animates your charsets and stuff I think? You'd have to make macro'Z to do it in something else

I have tried Paint.NET simply because any graphics edited in the new MS paint are rendered useless by rm2k.

Anyway, I was 'famous' on another site long ago because of my graphic edited, namely my recolors. While some people claim to be cood I changing colors, I did it so that you could barely see the original color.

in iDraw, where others used palette swaps, I used the dropper tool, or whatever it is called. I would make the secondary color into the color I wanted to change, then on the image click on the color I wanted to change, than hit delete or whatever. it would remove ALL of the selected color and replace it with the secondary color. and I JUST found out an even better way to make it look more like the original, cus sometimes it came out blotchy.

Anyway sorry if that is noobish and there is an alternate way out there. But palette swapping was never a good thing for me. THe program I need is one good with recoloring.

Get a not-beta OS and use the right click on the eraser tool in paint.

THe problem with the right click on the eraser tool is that it takes far to long iDraw replaced the clor on the entire image instantly.

im really good at repalcing colours in images. its a fine art, im famous because of it

you might say im a pro at it... photoshop?? paint shop pro??! paint dot net? hahah!!hahah!!!! i use idraw. you cant get better than the best. theres no other tool like it for recoloring pixel art... youve never replaced a pixel until youve done it in idraw
