Launchy is the reason I don't have desktop icons. A couple quick keystrokes launches anything on my computer. With things so easily accessible, my desktop is essentially eye-candy.

Yeah, I have Quicksilver for the Mac which does the same thing--just hit whatever keystroke you set to open it and start typing whatever you want to open.  things i open all the time are on my dock, everything else is with QS.  The only icon on my desktop is to open my harddrive in finder and that's just because i felt like having SOMETHING there

and yeah fu dom its good

i use colibri, its basically ctrl+space and just type the name of the program you want to open and press enter. v.good.

it takes 5 minutes to bang a wallpaper like that out its all brushes downloaded from deviantart, place on picture. that is just proof that the gtuy has no originality and cant do anything except use brushes

the photos hes using arent even good quality. wouldnt be surpised if he hasnt even touched the levels on it. just take a picture throw some brushes on and youre done instant art

I get a major boner for OSX's UI, but I'm not a fan of (or really just not familiar with) how Macs operate under the hood and shit, having been raised with Windows machines. Combined the best of both worlds! I'm gonna change that feckin' background soon, I only set this up a little while ago.

Programs used:
Switcher (like a Mac's Expose function, leaps and bounds above Alt-Tabbing)
Vista OSX '09
RocketDock

Surprisingly doesn't use up many system resources! I'd say it seems FASTER but I think that would be a lie because there's absolutely no way that's possible.

It kind of was actually. Like I just needed to take pictures. I really wanted a picture of this bluejay, but I don't have lenses or anything of the sort so I couldn't get it in focus and properly zoomed, sadly.

EDIT: thanks though, I'm sort of in the habit of saving everything as png so I'll swap that out now

pretty nerdy as you have to know what the icons are to use them. what's with people not using their desktops as... desktops. you put stuff that you're using or working on on them!

i don't use my desktop apart from txts and folders and the last game i played was mother 3 last semester so yep i play lots of gba roms. who is going to see my desktop apart from people on the internet, anyway? to be fair tonight i was thinking about what having floral wallpaper as wallpaper says about me, that i would prefer that over natural desktops. does it even matter when the nature scenes are essentially glamor shots. dumb things. i was watching an environmental film festival thing and one of them was just a series of stills, plus i've been reading about commercialization vs. aestheticization lately, so it wasn't out of nowhere hm... what does my desktop say about me
