One thing though I'd say just skip the whole CMS deal unless it's something utterly amazing and innovative, otherwise it serves no purpose and the default CMS works just fine. You could always just make "Journal" an item that links to a common event or access it via hotkey.

I'm going to leave it in for now, if my Beta testers say it's useless, then I'll scrap it and make items or hotkey-accessed events for the things that are in the CMS.
And to Kaempfer:
You do have a decent point, and it's not like I wasn't going to touch up the maps a little anyway. I thought you were saying before to totally scrap what I had, which is why I didn't agree with you. Yeah, I'll see if I can't tighten everything up a bit.

Well, as they also say, try pleasing everyone and you'll end up pleasing no one.
But when you're talking about the overall quality of the mapping, you can please everyone.
It's not like anyone will hate your revised maps because they're too good.

Different people have different tastes, some people would complain that it's too crowded and claustrophobic if I pushed everything too close together. Some people prefer lots of space, some prefer less. I'm going to touch up on the maps, however, as I already said, so... yeah.

Just make sure to PM me with requests or whatever.
Oh yeah and you can get MP3's from a whole bunch of games from here, if you weren't aware of it:

So have you made any significant progress with it yet? I don't know why I'm asking as you'll update when there is, but it seems like you haven't gotten me to do anything yet, which makes me feel like you think I'm ignoring you or something.
Just make sure to PM me with requests or whatever.

Oh trust me, I know of Blue Laguna. I was going to use all FF songs, but I realized people would immediately use that as a point against the game, so I changed my mind. Now I have a couple of MIDI composers.
Alright, I'll PM you with any requests, but I'm at a stage right now where I don't need anything in particular that I don't already have. It won't be long though, trust me.

I wont pick each problem out but you really need to work on the town. The best idea before starting a multi-level map is to PLAN PLAN PLAN. From what I see of your town map there was no planning or thought, it was simply you having fun with the chipset and impressing yourself with stairs going UP AND DOWN omgzzz.
All I can say is you should be delighted with the good comments but you really should consider the constructive criticism given by members on this forum instead of shrugging it off.
If you added some NPC's to that town, the little loop around with nothing in would still be pointless. Also the point I made about you putting in stairs pointlessly? Most multi-level towns are much more simple in design. From what I see you have to walk through ALOT of stairs to get from the top to bottom or from one building to another.... You should look into organising it more and giving the town a more solid structure. This often works best by building up 2-4 layers of the town... On each layer put categorised buildings ("inn, shop on one level").
I am simply trying to help you because at the moment it just looks like another VERY incomplete FF-Fan game with medicore mapping. I hope you take the criticism from me and the others here and amend your work. Maybe then it would appeal to a wider audience.

Anyways, looked at what you have, and I must say, I'm really not that fond of your World Map. I may be in the wrong because I'm comparing it to FFVI's World Map, but it looks so thin to me, that I feel it would be hard to move around. Now, you may not think its hard to move in but you need to put into consideration that you're the one who created it and knows how it works.
Your CMS to me is a large eye sore right now, but you said it wasn't complete and so I wish you luck on that.
Your town also looked rather large and empty, people will help that but you must remember that certain parts of your town are unnecessary and are what you could say are too open. If you look at the maps of FF6 they didn't really have wide open areas, and when they did they had crates there to kind of cut it down with the people. In my opinion it adds a sense of civilization in towns, when you see people moving around and crates stacked here and there near shops and such.
Anyways, I wish you luck with this game and would like to see more about it in the future.

A .wav version? Jesus Christ dude, .wavs are like 80+mbs per regular length song!
I'm offering it for people who don't care about file size, as WAVs loop better. But I'm offering an MP3 and possibly MIDI version as well, so there shouldn't be a problem
