i'm no pc expert but yah it looks like you could play most modern games. don't expect max settings or anything (i'm not sure how the 9600m compares to the normal one)

Looks about similarly specced to my laptop; you'll be able to run newer stuff, but not at max settings. If it's anything like mine, anything from 2004-2005 backward will run at max settings very smoothly.

Looks like a good all around laptop. Should easily play any game you throw at it, although at mid to low settings when it comes to the newer games.

Why would you get a laptop to play games?

I guess it would depend on the kind of graphical development he's doing. Idk it seems to me that running modern games or serious graphical development seem like tasks that aren't suited for small laptop screens and mobile versions of video hardware.

o well in that case, go for it.

you should get an apple though cuz people will be like "oh hey you got a mac me too lets talk about macs for 3 hours" and you'll make that one friend who loves their mac and you'll get dragged into stupid drunken dormroom debates he starts with someone who doesnt think macs are the best and when you're alone you guys can talk about how that douche doesnt know what he's talking about and then wrestle around a bit in your underwear and maybe suck each others dicks just once to see what it's like

I'm ordering two.

the acer does sound like an okay laptop for what you are looking for. i think they were selling something similar to that at wal-mart for 300$.

nevermind, the one I am thinking of has a shitty graphics card and the shittiest variation of vista.
has a girl in his bed. pot in his pipe and family guy on the tube. i like life

dont game on a laptop im serious

dont do it at all unless you spend like $2000 where the laptop pretty much should bea  desktop just from it size

dont do it i know...I know how it feels to buy a laptop and try to game on it.....I have pretty much the same stuff as you except better cpu and gfx and I can hardly play TF2.....

there is nothing good about this

actually my laptop overheated trying to run the last remnant and i couldnt start it up for 5min D:!

Are you kidding, dx? You should be able to run TF2. Esp with BETTER SPECS. I mean it won't be the best ever, but it should run okay.

the reviews said they could run Fallout 3 and Burnout Paradise in not  max but acceptable settings.. so I think it's pretty capable?

I imagine the complications I would have would be its physical features, probably will overheat or what..
