I think the problem that most people have with laptop gaming is the Windows power-saving features, which are propably at maximum by default and people don't realise it. That would totally gimp the power of the laptop, so making a profile for high performance to go with it is recommended.

I have never had any problems with my computer overheating or having any problems with gaming on my laptop, so I think that dx really has no idea what he is talking about

This is 100% true. My mom was complaining about her computer running slow (desktop computer... also an acer lulz) and sure enough, she had it set to power saver mode... the CPU was bottlenecked by Vista to run at 50% it's maximum potential.

o well in that case, go for it.

you should get an apple though cuz people will be like "oh hey you got a mac me too lets talk about macs for 3 hours" and you'll make that one friend who loves their mac and you'll get dragged into stupid drunken dormroom debates he starts with someone who doesnt think macs are the best and when you're alone you guys can talk about how that douche doesnt know what he's talking about and then wrestle around a bit in your underwear and maybe suck each others dicks just once to see what it's like

Wait, are laptops modifiable? I mean can I change cards, drives etc.. like on a normal desktop?

you can't change cards, you can probably change drives if you're careful enough in taking the thing apart or the laptop allows you to swap out the hard drive.

you can change the harddrive, ram, and cpu in order of difficulty but you need to get laptop versions of all three

Thank goodness, 250 gb for hard drive is really small for me.

I've read some posts online regarding ram and it seems that different laptops have their limits on to how much RAM you could upgrade to. Seems this one is at 4gb maximum(default) so I guess I'm stuck at that.
