What an astonishingly disgusting man.
I would recommend Dream Theater's A Change of Seasons. It basically tells the story of the whole arc of human life, so it also touches on this topic:
She walked into the night
She turned for one last look
She looked me in the eye
I said, 'I Love You...Good-bye'
It might be a bit of a hard listen to the untrained ear though.

Not really a bummer song but it's pretty mellow. Also, I got turned down by a girl and then I listened to this song and it was like he was singing my thoughts.
